H3 Chem Test - Aftermath

No puns intended, there wasn't any math anyway. But oh well, what can I say? Almost everyone I know failed... cept *cough*(yes you chin heng..) Haha, so guess it's not that bad lah. It's always a relative thing, as long as you're somewhere with the majority, it's probably fine.

But strangely the test wasn't that crazily difficult. Should have mugged more and hopefully scored a bit higher(though I probably would hav missed that particular section anyway.. sigh) but supposedly it was self check. Turns out it was half true: Self check but they still wanna see the marks.

Anyhow, I think the first common test of last year was probably harder than this. Lol.. it was interestingly enjoyable in a weird sense actually. After doing PCME for the last year, where nearly every subject is quantitative and you're either right or wrong, it was fun to be able to do some qualititative questions agian. Dunno just spam and whack, probably can get at least a bit of marks unless you were totally talking rubbish.

Haha, even Mrs Chung also kinda knew that we were smoking even though we marked it ourselves. She mentioned that the next test would be more quantitative so no more smoking =( Guess that means it's time to start mugging.

Well went for the SPCA CIP orientation thingy today, so sad, quite a number didn't turn up... Haha, actually I'm just referring to the stupid fella who went for band prac. Gai si de.. bahh. So I went alone and learnt a bit more about the SPCA - animals that are up for adoption do not get put to sleep even if they don't get adopted for a long time, and that the situation in Singapore isn't that fantastic in solving the problem of abandoned pets and such. Something about there not being like quotas on the number of pets that can be sold.

Not too sure if I'll sign up or not, it's not the typical donation drive/help out kind of CIP. It's more of just offering the manpower for their normal running of the place, like admin stuff etc. Quite interesting but not sure if it's my kind of thing. Well, at least the sign up process is relatively simple, they ask, you want you reply, don't want then nevermind, so just wait and see ba.

Yea, feeling quite pleased after I cleaned up my CPU and table... Everything except the stupid keyboard. The holder needs some fixing anyway so I'll probably get around to doing it another day.

Lol.. this post seems quite weird. I need to work on the way I link my sentences and paragraph together. But, well, yea, lol, haha, anyhow, oh well, so, it's all sounding pretty dead.

H3 Chem Test

Haiz.. the first H3 chem test is tomorrow and the number of topics tested is practically everything in the syllabus save for 2 topics. Haiz.. I give up, I'll work on the assumption that Drug Discovery is nonsense, I still remember the 2 topics that I actually read through... (wow..) and that I remember my heterocyclics which I just mugged today. Oh, and of course, the biggest assumption is that the test is bound to be a killer judging from the stupid topics that we're learning.

It's times like this that I think I'm probably wasting my time, but haha, who knows? Maybe this'll all pay off some day.... I hope. <>.<> Ok, off to get some sleep before piahing through that 1 last topic I haven't touched at all tomorrow. But on hindsight, one of the great things about mugging is that it's actually able to distract the mind from other frustrating stuff. 以毒攻毒 I guess. Talk about positive externalities. 新年快乐！

Was supposed to do this flash card where there would be a dog/puppy trying all means to unsuccessfully wake up a little pig(let) to take over him in the new lunar year. In the end the dog/puppy would use a bunch of firecrackers which would finally work and then have some greeting message but I got a bit lazy and busy... Kk, new year, new beginning, I'll admit it's more lazy than busy but oh well, X'mas is 12 days long, CNY is 15. Maybe I'll get myself to do it later.

Anyway, 祝大家 身体健康、心想事成！and to those not celebrating the occasion, Happy Holidays! Lol, all in all it's a 5 day break starting from Take 5. Hmm.. maybe that's why they called it Take 5.. Anyway Take 5 was not too bad actually, despite doing stupid stuff like setting that record of having the most number of people eating MANDARIN oranges at the same time (how specific... <>.<>) and getting chased off from playing frisbee by the telematch people, it was still rather enjoyable. haha, the oranges were actually sweet!

Haha, finally got the chance to try that breathing in Helium gas thingy. Lol, sorry if anyone didn't manage to get a balloon (that's er... no one?) I think I took abt 10 or so... heh =/ Quite fun actually, almost everyone tried including Mr. Gabriel Tan and Ms. Low! Haha, got videos too.. heh.. But even so, there were still some ppl like *cough**cough* who refused to try.. Haiz. But well, er.. although there aren't really any side effects of doing so, I still don't encourage people who are having a long day from doing this. By the end of the day I had this tendency to talk like I had just inhaled Helium even though in actual fact, about 10 hours had passed since. <>.<>

I think I'm really becoming a typical Singaporean, everything also must complain. So here goes another rant. The prata house just opposite CCAB along Evans Road really isn't that fantastic. Curry aside, it's about the same as the one is school except for the prices. But still, we sat there for about 2 hours before someone suggested going to wen hao's house. No prizes for guessing who, but if you're from 6F and can't get it.. er... where have you been this 1 year + ?!?!?!!

Haiz.. damn ulu lah, that place (most places are 10 mins from the nearest MRT but his is 10 mins from the bus stop<>.<> heh..) but still, quite a lot of ppl went. Even Woo Han came by from soccer for like 5 mins before we all left. Oh and I realised that Wei is becoming more suan.. tsk.. Er... heh... v(,") lol..

Hmm.. what else to complain about... Oh yes, reunion dinner at Dragon Phoenix at Novotel. What can I say, the service sucked - the food was served wedding style but yet people were on their 4th dish and we were still on our 2nd. The music sucked - They played the disc like 3 times in 2 hours and the music is er... for those with an acquired taste. The condiments sucked - woops, sorry, what condiments? They didn't even have soya sauce. But they did have the saucers though. Put what? Vinegar arh? Haiz.. they were so much better at their small restaurant in River Valley last year. Cannot handle so many tables 就不要勉强 mah... <>.<>

But well, least ytd went to bai nian wasn't too bad... I finally learnt who's my 大姑 and 二姑! Yay. but er.. don't ask me how they're related to me, I really can't get these stuff. Everyone's auntie and uncle to me =/ Haha, but this year was good, I pigged out quite a bit... heheh. =D What?? It's the year of the pig mah, all in the spirit of things man... ;)

Despite everything though, this year's CNY seems to be pretty much just another holiday for me.. Just don't quite feel that festive joy around, and I've been stoning and lazing around at home. Argh.. and there's a stupid H3 chem test this fri... bah... 大吉大利。。

1. Contrary to popular suspicion, breathing in Helium has absolutely no side effects except when you breath in pure helium and deprive yourself of oxygen. And for all you muggers out there, here's the formulae:
U_k = (1/2) mv² = (3/2)kT
where U_k = KE of gas,
m = Mass,
v = Velocity,
k = Boltzmann's constant = R/L (Gas constant divided by Avogadro's constant)
T = Temperature in Kelvin

Sub k = R/L into (1):
U_k = (1/2) mv² = (3/2)RT/L

Rearranging, v = √{3[RT/(Lm)]}

And since f= v/λ, where f is frequency and λ is wavelength, when v increases, f increases => Pitch increases.

Thus since He has a smaller Mr than N(which makes up 78.1% of the atmosphere) the mass of the air being exhaled would be lighter, hence causing the speed of sound to be faster and the pitch increasing to produce a cartoonish voice. _#Proven!

Yay, so since the school propagates being the Thinker, Leader, Pioneer, I shall be an idiot and ask:
Which of the following gases should you inhale to produce a deeper sounding (low pitch)voice:

Yay! - A lot of stuff

First up, Happy belated Birthday to ME!!! ok, it's kinda late but I realised I forgot to wish myself.. haiz... how could I forget such an important thing<>.<> And slightly less importantly, Happy belated Birthday blog!! Your birthday was yesterday, I didn't forget no no, was just too tired heh.. I'll get you a present later ;)

Ok, I think I'd better tone down this madness a bit before my class ends up visiting me instead of doing CIP at IMH... hoho.. but how can you blame me? The hectic chaos which started since last week is finally over!.... Until the stupid H3 test nxt fri that is. But as the chinese saying goes, 今日事，今日毕 (Finish today's things today) Thus next week's 事就留给 next week 吧！

But what's a post from me without a rant? So let's get the ball rolling with some crap of an excuse as to why I've not been blogging. Yes, I blame the school for my laziness lack of time! Whee, so anyway just so that when perhaps some day many years down the road I see myself starting at another crazy schedule, I'll note down the crap I had last week so I know I can make it through just like I did back when I was still minor.

Yep, as a kid, I made it through 4 tests in 5 days! Yes, let's see, there was phy lect test on mon, miraculously nth on tues, common math tut test on weds, chem SPA on thurs and to top it off, there was some stupid gp compre, er... water bomb fight and then some H3 chem tut with a lecturer who's like trying to set some new speed record. <>.<>

Anyway speaking of records, the attempt by the premier junior college in the bishan-toa payoh region with shared facilities with a top all boys institution next door to set a Singapore record of having the most number of people eat oranges at the same time during Take 5, coupled with there actually being a consent form for Take 5, I'm wondering if anyone might draft the following reason: "I refuse to let my child/ward go for Take 5 as the idea of a premier junior college setting a record such as oranges eating is simply revolting."

*hint* student council, *hint*

Yes and with regard to the water bomb thingy... well, I'm sure glad that there's a hose and tap in the toilet behind the bookshop =D But despite it all, thnx a lot to the ppl who made it quite a day to remember. Of course, special mention goes out to Mr. Chua, Mr. Law and Mr. Lui, whose birthday's we wouldn't soon forget. *er hem*

And finally, Happy Valentine's Day to everyone out there. Haha, quite an interesting day really, ended up eating pasta mania with Wei Liang, Wei, Renuka, Nandita, Sabby, Wen Hao and PJ, which kinda brought back some memories of the crazy "outings" we had last year... ah.. a busy week and 3 days has come to a not too bad close despite so many screw ups here and hey, I passed my phy lect test! Yay! lol... ok, can't stay high no more.. Feeling really sleep deprived. Sleep, here I come.
