GP GP!!

well, I think it's no big secret wat we're doing for GP anymore so I shall blog abt it since I've got nothing else that I want to do. Anyway, Friday was rather productive, we completed everything ahead of schedule and had time to chit chat and play bridge. In the process of the whole thing, certain pictures were taken, some of which involved ducks which were really good but due to the unfortunate threat of a law suit, I shall not post those here =( haha.

In it's place, here's a few random pics from that day:

Canoe polo

For those who still don't know, canoe polo is basically something like playing water polo on a canoe. So it's got a canoes and goalposts and of course a ball. But since it's a mix of 2 sports, like floorball is a cross between ice and (normal) hockey, they got specialised equipment for it.

Well so for sea sports today we went to attend our first canoe polo course at McRitchie Reservoir and after 2 kayaking courses at the filthy Kallang River, the reservoir is like heaven I tell you. You not only get to enjoy the nice scenary, watch turtles and try to find fishes, but the water is actually clean, doesn't smell, and doesn't taste salty/bitter! wheee.....

..... until we found out that the stupid Peddlers Lodge doesn't have the specialised canoe polo boats. Ok, small matter, smth similar will do.

-But woops, they only have a grand total of 13 spray skirts....

-ok, fine, so no funky moves and we'll be careful, still can play right?

-Well maybe, but no canoe polo ball!!

-How? ok volley ball will do, how many can they lend us for a group of 20 ppl? ONE!!! (canoe polo is played with 5 players a team btw.)

-Fine fine, so we compromise, we'll just anyhow kampong lah, after all we're there to just learn, not like train for competition now.

-Then comes the bomb - No goal posts, no marked areas.... and.....

WT*.... we're paying SIXTY dollars for a THREE day CANOE POLO course and all we had was just a normal training canoe, probably a BAT and differnt types of paddles and a volley ball...-.- ggxx some bomb...

The only fortunate thing is that the instructors were quite nice so we still managed to get a some sort of captains ball game going. Heh, was damn fun actually, but I think I caused some accidents cause my canoe control skills not so zai so sorry ppl... But well, probably due to the same reason my canoe got flooded with a hell lot of water, probably more than 5 litres in there and no I'm not exaggerating, I used a bottle to empty quite a lot of water before giving up and capsizing it....lol.

But well, in the end regarding the canoe polo course, we've concluded that given the lousy facilities and obscene pricing, we're..........NOT going to pay! wheee..... we'll probably go to that place that ODAC goes to which, incidentally, is nearer to home too! wahaha! But now the poor pres and vice pres gotta go figure a way to complain in a very diplomatic way such that we don't burn our bridges and that we get our way at the same time... haha good luck to them sia... XP

Failure to launch

well anyway yesterday during chem or smth chin msg ask if wanna go watch ice age at cathay grand, but unfortunately a few mins before that a note was being passed round suggesting we go watch v for vendetta at gv. so hearing it was a damn gd and cheem show i was looking forward to it.

Unfortunately, vendetta was no longer showing there so it was either ice age 2 or failure to launch and for some reason *er hem* we ended up watching the latter. (but looking at chin's post on tksspm-brudders looks like no diff lah)

Anyway the show really failed to launch. It was supposed to be a romantic comedy but it was neither romantic nor funny, cept for some damn screwed up slapstick parts where a guy got bitten by a chipmunk, dolphin and some vegetarian lizard and another guy doing CPR on a stupid mockingbird which bit him after it got revived >.<

so yah, bottom line dun watch....argh... sorry for the lousy post, feeling quite tired from the stupid raffles trail which is another long story....so cya for now.

Interview

haiz, do i not hate them. But the sad reality of life is that to get what i want, i'll have to endure many many of them, so might as well get used to it now. But while i'm still not used to it, it feels freaking weird. All of a sudden I've gotta be shameless and ego at the same time... which is like, such an outrageous demand from a nice guy like me.... lol (kk, dun nd to throw that rotten egg)

But anyways, I still did it anyway, with a weird (and probably twisted) smile on my face I braved the interview for the sea sports committee. I think it's damn fortunate that my face is burnt lah, if not I'd probably be red from embarrassment. I kinda screwed up the question on do you think you can work well with the others? Thought it was like everyone else who were running for some post, so being truthful (and probably naive) i said mostly yea. Then pow.... "mostly?!".... wheeee ggxx. so had to try very desperately to save the situation and all. haiz... please tell me not all interviews are this bad.

Oh yah, also got 2 damn @?#> questions, are your frm RI? and who do you think is a better leader, LKY or George Bush and why? ... ... well, because this is a public domain, I shall decline to comment. heh.

So yea, I hope i make it thru, got a nice raw 50% chance given that there are only 3 other ppl contesting for the post I want, but after the voting arh... I think my chance down to 20%, unless I can miraculously get the girls to vote for me.... haiz... sea sports should have a policy of equal representation!!!! XD
